The Chargers kept Ryan Mathews in for a significant amount on Sunday night's game against the Saints. He racked up 80 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, catching six passes for 59 yards on top of that.
Fantasy Impact: Mathews was sparsely used towards the end of the game when the Chargers were attempting to mount a comeback. Instead of Jackie Battle, it was Ronnie Brown cutting into the workload this time. Mathews looked like a far superior back running the ball, and with the Saints defense in shambles against opposing ground games, he had no problem finding holes. Brown might see more action going forward, but it's hard to believe San Diego won't continue using Mathews in the No. 1 role.
