Alshon Jeffery has his hand in a cast and could miss a few weeks. We break down the fantasy implications.
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hand) got bad news on Monday. According to ESPN's Michael C. Wright, Jeffery has his hand in a cast and could miss a few weeks. The good news is that Jeffery won't require surgery and has a Week 6 bye to recover, but there's no definite timetable on his return. Jeffery has 14 catches for 184 yards and two TDs on the season.
Fantasy Impact: The rookie wideout was hyped as a fantasy sleeper in the preseason, but that hasn't really materialized yet, and this news could be the push for some owners to drop him. With Jeffery out, Devin Hester and Earl Bennett will likely fight for the starting spot opposite Brandon Marshall. Neither guy is a viable fantasy option.
