Rex Ryan says 'never say never' to Terrell Owens joining Jets: Fantasy implications

Byron Hetzler-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Rex Ryan told reporters "never say never" when asked about the possibility of Terrell Owens joining the Jets to help shore up the depth chart. We break down the fantasy implications.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan told reporters "never say never" when asked about the possibility of signing Terrell Owens to shore up the Jets' ailing depth chart at wide receiver, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. The Jets have lost Santonio Holmes for the season, and have been without Stephen Hill for the last two weeks due to a hamstring injury. After Clyde Gates went down with a shoulder injury on Monday Night Football, Owens tweeted a plea to the Jets to contact his agent.

Fantasy Impact: Just when you thought the Jets couldn't turn into any more of a circus show, Ryan goes and stokes rumors of Owens coming to New York. To be fair, Ryan did say the Jets were looking at all of their possible options. They clearly need more bodies at wideout. Whoever they add, T.O. or otherwise, can't be expected to have much of a fantasy impact, however. The Jets' offense is currently struggling to get anything going in any facet of their game.
