Aaron Hernandez not spotted at Patriots practice: Fantasy implications

Jim Rogash

Aaron Hernandez was not spotted at the Patriots' full-pads practice Thursday, according to reports. We break down the fantasy implications.

Aaron Hernandez was not spotted at Thursday's full-pads practice for the New England Patriots, according to Shalise Young of the Boston Globe. Hernandez was held out of last week's game against the St. Louis Rams due to a setback on an ankle injury suffered in Week 2.

The Patriots are on a bye this week, so the team does not need to file an injury report. There is no official word yet on what Hernandez' status might be for Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Impact: After being targeted often in Weeks 6 and 7, fantasy owners have to be discouraged to see Hernandez back on the mend. The Patriots clearly think he is an important piece to the offense, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy enough to reward owners this season.

Check back throughout this week and next for more on Hernandez' ankle. If he plays against the Bills, he should be a solid starting option in standard formats going up what has been an awful ]defense.
