Rashard Mendenhall injury update: Fantasy value could be shelved another week

Frederick Breedon

Rashard Mendenhall is doubtful for Week 10 against the Chiefs. We break down the fantasy implications.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) is officially listed as doubtful for Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mendenhall got in a week of limited practice, which is encouraging progress from previous weeks, when he wasn't even able to practice.

That said, it's still very unlikely he will play Monday, as the Steelers aren't in a hurry to rush him back until he's 100%.

Fantasy Impact: The team has insisted that Mendenhall will take the starting job back once healthy, but with Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman performing fine on their own, we'll see if they hold to their word.

Look for Week 11 for Mendenhall to return, and keep stashing him on your bench.
