San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates scored a touchdown in the Chargers 34-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gates caught four passes for 57 yards and a score.
Philip Rivers found Gates for a 13 yard touchdown in the first quarter to put San Diego up 14-7, but the Chargers would eventually lose the game.
Fantasy Impact: Gates has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season. The touchdown was just his fourth of the season. With 57 yards and a TD, this is his second highest fantasy scoring performance of the year.
Gates is not what he once was in the fantasy world, but in the recent weeks he has proved to be a solid option at tight end. He may only have four touchdowns, but they all came in his last four games and his injury issues to start the season seem to have dissipated.
