Andy Dalton was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Dalton went 21-for-30 passing for 199 yards and four touchdowns to help the Cincinnati Bengals beat the New York Giants on Sunday.
Dalton has now thrown at least three touchdown passes in four games this season. On the year, he is 203-for-315 passing for 2,329 yards, 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Fantasy Impact: Dalton has been a somewhat inconsistent fantasy option this season. He also has four games with one touchdown pass or less this season. Still, you could do much worse in terms of a backup/QB2. With A.J. Green on the other end of his passes, Dalton isn't likely to produce an outright dud.
This Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs is a solid matchup for Dalton if you need to usher him into your starting lineup due to the rash of injuries to starting quarterbacks this past weekend. The Chiefs have given up 18 passing touchdowns with just six interceptions this season.
