The Lions are sending a message to Titus Young by benching him for the Thanksgiving game. We break down the fantasy implications.
Detroit Lions WR Titus Young is officially in the coach's doghouse. According to beat writer Dave Birkett, the Lions will deactivate Young for the Thanksgiving game against the Houston Texans and have sent him home from team facilities on Monday. It is doubtful he will even practice this week.
Young landed in hot water after lining up on the wrong route in a critical 4th quarter play, leading to a false start and a heated exchange on the sidelines between OC Scott Linehan and WR coach Scott Jefferson. Young was benched on Detroit's final possession.
Fantasy Impact: This isn't the first time Young got himself in trouble--he got kicked out of offseason workouts for sucker punching teammate Louis Delmas. Young has oodles of talent, but mental mistakes on the field and bad behavior off have torpedoed his career. It's not likely he will be back with the team next season.
Ryan Broyles is expected to get the start opposite Calvin Johnson. He's worth a waiver claim as a WR3 this week.
