Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE
Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon was ruled out on Friday for this weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers. We break down the fantasy implications.
Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon has been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Carolina Panthers. Garcon has been out in five of the last seven games for the Redskins because of a torn toe ligament in his right foot.
Coach Mike Shanahan said earlier this week that Garcon would not try and play until after the team's bye in Week 10. Garcon hasn't played since catching three passes for 24 yards in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact: This was a formality for the Redskins, who have played most of their games without Garcon and clearly weren't expecting to have him back this week. Garcon is not a lock to return after the bye and could still have to have surgery.
If fantasy owners have the roster space, Garcon is worth keeping until the Redskins decide when/if he can return.
