Rashard Mendenhall is listed as doubtful for Sundays' game between the Steelers and the Giants. We break down the fantasy implications.
Rashard Mendenhall is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Mendenhall is dealing with an Achilles' injury suffered in Week 6 in what was just his second game back from a torn ACL.
Jonathan Dwyer (quad) is also listed as doubtful, putting Isaac Redman in line to start this weekend. Redman rushed for a season-high 41 yards on 13 carries against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact: The Steelers' two best rushers over the last three weeks are likely out, leaving what has been a thus far mediocre Redman to shoulder the running game. Redman is averaging just 2.5 yards per carry, but the Steelers' offensive line seems to be blocking better than it did early in the year, so it's possible Redman could have a productive day.
Putting Redman in your lineup is still a big risk. Unless you are absolutely desperate for a running back due to the bye week or injuries, you should have a better option to plug at running back.
