Phil Sears-US PRESSWIRE
Laurent Robinson is expected to play Sunday for the Jaguars for the first time since suffering a concussion in Week 4. We break down the fantasy implications.
Laurent Robinson is listed as probable for the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. Robinson suffered a concussion in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, and has been on the sidelines since.
Cecil Shorts is expected to start ahead of Robinson, according a report earlier in the week. Robinson could also be behind rookie Justin Blackmon.
Fantasy Impact: Robinson is a very risky starting fantasy option in any format this week. Players coming off five-week layoffs tend to be a little rusty, and there is concern about his place on the depth chart at the moment. Through no fault of is own, Robinson may now be the Jags' No. 3 receiver after starting the year on top.
That may change as the second half of the season rolls on, but for now don't count on picking Robinson up off waivers unless he does something noteworthy on the field. The Jags passing game is still averaging a league-worst 164 yards per game.
