San Francisco 49ers defense comes up big for fantasy owners

Brian Bahr

As if you needed another reminder how amazing the Niners D was, they shut down the Bears. We break down the fantasy implications.

Did you really need another reminder that the San Francisco 49ers defense was amazing? I hope not, but just in case, they're really amazing. On Monday Night Football, the 49ers held the Chicago Bears to just seven points and 143 total yards in a 32-7 laugher.

The big IDP star of the night was Aldon Smith, who got an amazing 5.5 sacks on Jason Campbell.

Fantasy Impact: Like you needed another reason to start the Niners D/ST unit every week. They can wreak havoc on any team in the league on any given week. This defense is damn near flawless.

The Niners D will get a tough test against Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 12, but they've proven themselves to be matchup-proof. Start this unit with confidence in fantasy.
