Tim Tebow suffered broken ribs in Week 10: Fantasy implications

Elsa

The Jets have revealed that Tim Tebow broke two ribs against the Seahawks, explaining why he didn't play a single snap in the humiliating loss on Thanksgiving. We break down the fantasy implications.

New York Jets QB Tim Tebow was active in the Thanksgiving game against the Patriots, but didn't play a single snap. We now know why--Tebow revealed that he had two broken ribs suffered back in Week 10 against the Seahawks. Coach Rex Ryan considered deactivating Tebow, but he decided to keep him dressed " as an emergency option". Third-stringer Greg McElroy was a healthy scratch.

The Jets lost the game 49-19 in a humiliating performance on national television.

Fantasy Impact: You'd think if anything qualifies as an "emergency", it would be the Jets giving up 35 points in one quarter on a comical series of events in front of a bloodthirsty Met Life crows, but apparently Ryan doesn't think so. There's also the whole matter of why Tebow was active when he clearly wasn't ready to play.

At any rate, Tebow is still not a fantasy option and Ryan may get an unfriendly phone call from the league office for hiding an injury nearly two weeks. Just another day at the office for the Jets clown show.
