Maurice Jones-Drew expected to be out 'a few more weeks': Fantasy implications

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) was hoping to make his return in Week 13, but it sounds like he will miss more time than that. We break down the fantasy implicaitons

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) told national radio outlets that he's expected to miss a "few weeks" with the sprained foot he suffered back in Week 7. Jones-Drew is no longer in crutches or a walking boot and was hoping to return in Week 13, but it sounds like the foot is healing slower than he'd like.

Jalen Parmele is expected to get the Week 12 start in his place.

Fantasy Impact: With the Jaguars sitting at 1-9, there's no real incentive for them to rush back their best player. Looks like Week 14 is the new timeline for MJD's return, just in time for the fantasy playoffs.

In the meantime, Parmele is worth a waiver claim as a flex option against the Titans this week.
