Knowshon Moreno will start at running back Sunday for the Denver Broncos, according to reports. We break down the fantasy implications.
Knowshon Moreno will start at running back for the Denver Broncos in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPN's Chris Mortenson. Moreno jumped ahead of Lance Ball and Ronnie Hillman, who were expected to handle the rushing load with Willis McGahee on injured reserve.
Moreno was marked active for the first time since Week 2 of the season. On the year, he has just eight carries for 15 yards and a touchdown. Mortenson reports that the Broncos decided to start the 218-pounder due to his superior pass blocking.
Fantasy Impact: The Broncos dropped a zero-hour surprise and decided to roll with Moreno, who had been considered the team's No. 4 running back up until several minutes ago. If you are critically desperate for a starting running back this week, he is worth targeting. Moreno has twice rushed for over 100 yards against the Chiefs in his career, though both outings came in the 2010 season. Take heed that Ball and Hillman may still see touches, however.
