Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner did not offer much in terms of yardage, but found the end zone for the Falcons. We break down the fantasy implications.
Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner was stuffed all day by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but his fourth quarter touchdown gave the Falcons a 24-23 victory.
Turner rushed 13 times and gained only 17 yards; he also had three receptions for 13 yards. Turner's backfield mate, Jacquizz Rodgers gained 49 yards on 10 carries.
Fantasy Impact: With a dwindling yards per carry average, Turner looks like he might be becoming more of a goal line specialty back in Atlanta. As long as he finds the end zone, fantasy owners shouldn't be too upset.
Turner is still capable of having big days on the ground as he has rushed for over 100 yards twice this season, but he has averaged under 1.5 yards per carry in two of the last three weeks. He is still a strong flex option, but be cautious using him in your starting lineup going forward.
