San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews had a productive first half against the Baltimore Ravens.
San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews is off to a good start against the Baltimore Ravens. Mathews has nine carries for 48 yards and two receptions for 13 yards as the Chargers hold a 10-0 lead at the half.
Mathews has not rushed for 100 yards yet this season and has only found the end zone once. If he continues to produce at a steady rate and the Chargers maintain a lead in the second half it is possible that Mathews could reach one of those milestones in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact: Mathews has only carried the ball more than 20 times in a game twice this season. With nine carries in the first half and a San Diego lead, it is very possible he could reach 20 carries against the Ravens.
The best news about Mathews' first half performance is that he is averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Over the last two weeks he has averaged just 3.16 yards per carry. Mathews will never be an elite fantasy option because he doesn't find the end zone enough, but remains a solid RB2 or flex option.
