Ben Roethlisberger wants to play in Week 13, fantasy status unknown

Joe Sargent

Ben Roethlisberger is tired of watching from the sideline. We break down the fantasy implications.

After watching two straight losses while sitting out with an injury, Ben Roethlisberger is tired of being a spectator. Big Ben is aiming to play in Week 13 against the Ravens with the Steelers playoff hopes now becoming a concern.

He will start soft-tossing to determine his range of motion and how much pain he is still after injuring his ribs against Kansas City.

Fantasy Impact: Chris Mortensen also reported that doctors have said Big Ben's ribs are healed to the point where he doesn't risk further damage. After several stories said Roethlisberger could actually die if he played too soon, this is positive news for his status going forward.

Practice this week should tell whether he will play in Week 13. He may be optimistic, so we'll see what Mike Tomlin has to say on the situation.
