Matt Forte injury: Fantasy status in question for Week 13

Dilip Vishwanat

Matt Forte's ankle injury suffered Sunday should not affect him long-term, but will threaten his status for Week 13, according to reports. We break down the fantasy implications.

Matt Forte's ankle injury suffered Sunday during the Chicago Bears' win over the Minnesota Vikings should not keep him out long-term. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the running back could miss Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks, however.

Forte had 42 yards on 14 carries before leaving Sunday's game early in the third quarter. He has not scored a touchdown since rushing for 103 yards and a score against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9.

Fantasy Impact: Michael Bush thrived with Forte out of the game. He finished with 60 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Granted, that's a paltry 2.9 yards per carry, but you can expect the bruising running back to continue to see touches on the goal line.

Whoever starts at running back has tough matchup this week, however. The Seahawks are giving up just 108.6 yards rushing per game on the season, though that number comes at a 4.6 yards per carry clip.
