Jonathan Dwyer is listed on top of the Pittsburgh Steelers' depth chart heading into the team's Week 13 rematch against the Baltimore Ravens, according to reports. Isaac Redman is listed as the team's No. 2, and Rashard Mendenhall, who has started every game he has played in the last three years, is listed at No. 3. Chris Rainey is listed as No. 4 despite scoring the team's only rushing touchdown last Sunday.
All four running backs lost a fumble during the Steelers' Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Mendenhall and Rainey put the ball on the turf twice each in a total of nine carries, however, moving them further down the depth chart. Dwyer was the Steelers' leading rusher with 19 yards on nine carries.
Fantasy Impact: Is there any position group in the NFL that is as big a mess as the Steelers' running back corps? The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback boondoggle, maybe, but that's about it. It seemed at times as if all four running backs were actively trying to lose the starting job.
Dwyer is your best bet if you're looking for a potential fantasy starter out of the muck. He is just one bad carry from riding the pine, however, and odds are he won't see exclusive carries. Stay far away from this situation if you can help it.
