DeSean Jackson has been placed on injured reserve, and will miss the rest of the 2012 season after fracturing his ribs during the Philadelphia Eagles' loss to the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football, Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced Tuesday.
Jackson finished the night with just one reception for nine yards before leaving the game for good in the first quarter. He had 45 receptions for 700 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
Fantasy Impact: With the Eagles' season essentially over, there is no sense in rushing the wide receiver back to the field even if is able to eventually gut out the injury. With Nick Foles starting under center, there was no guarantee that Jackson would have been fantasy relevant over the final stretch of the regular season, anyway, The rookie went 16-for-21 passing for a paltry 119 yards against the Panthers.
