Cecil Shorts, Justin Blackmon miss practice Thursday: Fantasy implications

Scott Cunningham

Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon were both held out of practice Thursday, suggesting possible injuries on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Per John Oesher, the Jacksonville Jaguars have added WRs Cecil Shorts III (hamstring) and Justin Blackmon (groin) to the injury report and neither player practiced on Thursday. This suggests that the two receivers suffered their injuries in Wednesday's practice session.

Midweek downgrades are almost never a good sign, so both players' status in Week 13 is suddenly up in the air.

Fantasy Impact: Shorts and Blackmon were getting new fantasy life with Chad Henne under center, but this injury news could potentially put the brakes on that.

It's not a given yet that they'll miss Sunday's game, but fantasy owners should probably start making backup plans. We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
