Coby Fleener Injury Update: Out status makes Dwayne Allen an option in fantasy

Thomas J. Russo-US PRESSWIRE

Coby Fleener will not play against the Dolphins. Is Dwayne Allen someone to consider this week?

Colts tight end Coby Fleener (shoulder) missed practice all week and he has been ruled out in Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins. This could require a multi-week absence.

Fleener has been in a time-share with Dwayne Allen and the Stanford product has 21 catches on 33 targets for 222 yards and no TDs.

Fantasy Impact: The shoulder injury ruled him out early, so there's a good chance he might have to miss more time. The Colts have some nice depth at tight end and took a page out of the Patriots' book by double-dipping on tight end in the draft. Fleener can be cut in just about every league.

Allen is a sneaky play this week. He was a highly-touted prospect before he flopped at Clemson last year and now he's starting to come around. Owners with Gronk or Aaron Hernandez might want to give him a shot. For what it's worth, the Dolphins struggle against the pass.
