Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE
Purple Jesus already has two TDs against the Seahawks in the first half.
The Sehawks are known to have one of the best rush defenses in the league. Adrian Peterson is making them look like fools today. As of this writing, the Vikings back has 12 carries for 144 yards and two TDs. Pretty good performance, right? Viking fans and fantasy owners should be happy with that.
There's just one problem -- it's still the second quarter.
Most of Peterson's yards came on the Vikings' first drive -- an impressive 74-yard run to the 1-yard line. He would punch it in one play later. His second score came in the second quarter, when he pushed the pile four yards.
There were many questions about Peterson's health after tearing his ACL last season. He has silenced each and every one of those questions, and is looking arguably even better than he did before the injury. With a combination of power, breakaway speed and Madden moves, Purple Jesus is one of the most exciting players of this generation.
UPDATE: Peterson is still very good:
At halftime Adrian Peterson had 144 yards rushing, his most ever in a 1st half. #Vikings
