Victor Cruz had five receptions for 67 yards during the Giants' loss to the Steelers on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Victor Cruz led the New York Giants with five receptions for 67 yards during Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cruz was targeted 11 times on the night, which was well over the four targets Martellus Bennett and Hakeem Nicks drew during a bad day from Eli Manning.
Cruz has just one game over 100 yards receiving in his last five. He has been held without a touchdown in two straight games. Nicks played a full game but was held to just one reception for 10 yards. He has not scored a touchdown since Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: Eli Manning went just 10-for-24 passing, and the bad outing reflected itself in the poor numbers from Cruz and Nicks. It's unclear what's wrong with the Giants' quarterback. He has looked inaccurate and uncomfortable for two straight weeks after a hot start to the season.
Cruz' outing was salvageable in PPR leagues, and he should continue to be a starter going forward considering his high floor and high ceiling. Hopefully Manning can get back track to the relief of Nicks owners, however.
