Miles Austin had seven receptions for 76 yards during the Cowboys' loss to the Falcons on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
Miles Austin had seven receptions for 76 yards during the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. Austin was targeted a team-high nine times. Unfortunately he was unable to find the end zone for a touchdown.
Austin has now been held without a touchdown in four of the eight games he has played this season. He has reasserted himself as a favorite target of Tony Romo, however. Three of his top four outings in terms have yardage have come in his last three games.
Fantasy Impact: Austin has been a semi-reliable source of touchdowns this season, so it's unfortunate for fantasy owners that it was the little-used Kevin Ogletree who was eventually found for a score. Still, it's encouraging that Austin continues to be a big part of the passing game. His outing was certainly appreciated in PPR leagues.
The Cowboys play the Philadelphia Eagles next week, which doesn't necessarily bode well for the passing game. As long as Austin remains the Cowboys' top target, however, he can be considered a safe starting WR2 in standard formats.
