Felix Jones had 39 yards rushing on nine carries and 70 yards receiving on five receptions during the Cowboys' loss to the Falcons on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
Felix Jones had 39 yards rushing on nine carries and 70 yards receiving on five receptions during the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. Jones caught all five of his targets in the passing game, and averaged 4.3 yards per carry rushing the ball. Lance Dunbar was the Cowboys' second-leading rusher with 26 yards on eight carries.
Jones had over 100 total yards from scrimmage for the second time this season. He was held without a touchdown for the second time in his last four games. Dunbar, meanwhile, earned touches over Phillip Tanner for the first time this season. Tanner had just one carry for no gain.
Fantasy Impact: Jones' explosiveness makes him a high-reward fantasy option when he is able to break loose. Unfortunately, the Cowboys are unwilling to give him a full workload without another complementary back, whether it be Tanner or Dunbar.
Jones is a viable Flex option next week against a Philadelphia Eagles defense giving up 4.0 yards per carry. He is hard to recommend as a weekly starter, however.
