Aaron Hernandez injury: Returns to practice, does he have Week 10 fantasy value?

Jim Rogash

Fantasy owners hoping for a big season from Hernandez are still waiting. We break down the fantasy implications.

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday but his status for Sunday's game against the Bills is still unknown. Hernandez has made just four starts this year and caught just 17 passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns.

The Patriots number two tight end missed Tuesday practice for the birth of his daughter, but is now back trying to get into game shape after a bye week.

Fantasy Take: It's been a frustrating year for fantasy owners, and I'm sure a frustrating year for Hernandez. The injury has really set him back, but perhaps he'll be a jolt during the fantasy playoffs.

The Bills have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but surprisingly Football Outsiders ranks them 3rd against tight ends. However, once the Patriots get into the red zone (which should be easy) Hernandez becomes a big target.
