Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said Thursday he was disappointed by his unit's recent play but that he was "driven and determined" to get it back on track. The focus of the recent struggles has fallen on quarterback Christian Ponder, who has thrown for less than 65 yards in the two of the team's last three games.
Musgrave said (via The Pioneer Press) he sensed Ponder wasn't pleased by with the team's recent play and said the quarterback's confidence remains OK. Coach Leslie Frazier has said he has not considered a quarterback switch and backup Joe Webb reportedly is not considered a long-term solution at the position for Minnesota.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners should have cut Ponder loose in most formats a while ago. Minnesota's offense was already run heavy and No. 1 wide receiver Percy Harvin (ankle) may not play in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions.
Ponder is, at best, a No. 2 fantasy quarterback this week but owners should strongly consider other options.
