David Wilson scored three total touchdowns (two rushing, one on special teams) to lead the Giants to a win over the Saints on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
David Wilson ran for two touchdowns and notched another on a kickoff return to lead the New York Giants over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. He led the Giants in rushing, with 13 carries for 100 yards. Ahmad Bradshaw was limited to 11 carries for 33 yards.
Wilson's carries, yards and touchdowns on the ground game were all career highs for the rookie. His kickoff return for a touchdown that gave the Giants their first score of the day was also, unsurprisingly, a career first.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners have waited all year to see Wilson take on a larger role in the Giants' offense. The rookie out of Virginia Tech is certainly a special athletic specimen, but in all fairness to the Giants' staff, he hadn't been particularly effective leading up to his Week 14 outburst.
Whether or not Wilson will continue to be a top fantasy prospect is unclear. Bradshaw was ineffective, but he may have been hampered by an apparent knee injury suffered early in the game. Either back could be a good Flex play going up against a bad Atlanta Falcons run defense in Week 15.
