Darren Sproles scored touchdowns on the ground and in the air on his way to 84 total yards during the Saints' loss to the Giants on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Darren Sproles had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown to go along with 84 total yards of offense during the New Orleans Saints' loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Sproles rushed for 56 yards on five carries and grabbed four receptions for 28 yards.
Mark Ingram led the Saints' running game with 68 yards on 13 carries, but could not find the end zone. Sproles scored his fifth and sixth touchdowns of the season, snapping a two-game scoreless streak.
Fantasy Impact: Sunday's game hopefully means a return to Sproles' productive ways. He began the year with four touchdowns in his first eight games, but a three-game absence due to a hand injury seemed to knock him off track a bit.
Ingram was the Saints' workhorse this week, but he's hard to recommend as a regular fantasy option due to his inconsistent touches most weeks. Sproles is probably the most reliable Saints fantasy option if you're looking for a running back, especially in PPR leagues.
