Joe Morgan had 106 yards receiving on just two receptions during the Saints' loss to the Giants on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Joe Morgan was targeted just twice during Sunday's game between the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants, but managed to pick up a whopping 106 yards with only two receptions. He was the Saints' leading receiver despite seeing fewer targets than six other Saints pass catchers.
Morgan has yet to see more than three targets in any game this season, but he is building a reputation as a big-play receiver. He is averaging 40.8 yards per reception on the year.
Fantasy Impact: The rest of the Saints receiving corps did its usual thing. Marques Colston had four receptions for 61 yards and Jimmy Graham had five receptions for 56 yards off a team-high 10 targets. Morgan is the real wild card for the Saints, with Drew Brees dialing up a deep ball for the undrafted rookie at least a couple times per game.
Morgan is too risky to recommend starting in any fantasy format, but he is certainly a fun player to watch. He could be worth targeting in fantasy drafts next season after he spends another offseason to build up his rapport with Brees.
