A.J. Green had just three receptions for 44 yards during the Bengals' loss to the Cowboys on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
A.J. Green was held to just three receptions for 44 yards during the Cincinnati Bengals' loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He was targeted eight times but didn't make the most of his opportunities for one of the few times this season. Andrew Hawkins was also targeted eight times, but was able to catch six passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Green's outing was his worst since Week 7 when he was held to just one reception for eight yards (albeit a touchdown). He has now been held without a touchdown in three straight games after scoring in nine straight outings.
Fantasy Impact: Green is rightfully receiving a lot of attention from opposing secondaries, but that hasn't stopped him from producing in the past. Nor was he facing a particularly stout defense. He just had an off day. Unfortunately, the dud came in the midst of the fantasy playoffs for a lot of owners.
Green has built up a lot of goodwill, and should be considered a must-start fantasy option over the final three weeks of the regular season. He goes up against against a Philadelphia Eagles secondary next week that was just torched by Vincent Jackson.
