Dez Bryant determined to play Sunday: Fantasy implications

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

Dez Bryant is determined to play for the Cowboys on Sunday despite a broken index finger, saying, "they'd have to break my leg to keep me out." We break down the fantasy implications.

Dez Bryant is determined to play Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Tuesday, he told Scout.com that "they'd have to break my leg to keep me out."

Bryant broke his left index finger in the fourth quarter of last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that it would be up to Bryant to determine whether to undergo season-ending surgery to repair the damage in his finger.

Fantasy Impact: It appears that Bryant will suit up in Week 15 if he is medically cleared to play. Owners will want to keep an eye on his status regardless, but they should be safe leaving the wideout in their starting lineups.

Bryant may wear a splint to protect his injured finger, in which case, there should be legitimate concern whether he will be effective. With seven touchdown receptions in his last five games, owners should probably consider Bryant at least a Flex option, however. He has been one of the best fantasy receivers in the league in recent weeks.
