Jeff Cumberland led the Jets with four receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown during Monday night's loss to the Titans. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jeff Cumberland led the New York Jets with four receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown during Monday night's loss to the Tennessee Titans. He started at tight end in place of Dustin Keller, who missed his second straight game due to an ankle injury.
Cumberland caught his third touchdown on the season. He was targeted a season-high nine times. He had his most productive night since racking up 58 yards on four receptions in Week 12 against the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Impact: Cumberland turned out to be a savvy play by fantasy owners who foresaw Keller being ruled out Monday. The big night was a bit fortuitous, however, considering how bad the offense was otherwise. Still, as long as Mark Sanchez is struggling under center, the Jets will look to give him a safety outlet. Cumberland could be a viable option next week against the San Diego Chargers if Keller is ruled out again.
