The Jets are likely stuck with Mark Sanchez' unwieldy contract for next season. We break down the fantasy implications.
According to Newsday's Bob Glauber, the New York Jets are likely to stick with QB Mark Sanchez for the 2013 season. The reason has more to do with money then football reasons--Sanchez is owed $8.25 million guaranteed next season, and would be an unwieldy $17 million cap hit if the team cuts him.
Sanchez was benched after yet another round of terrible football last week. Greg McElroy will start in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact: No team in the NFL is going to want to trade for that contract, so the Jets are stuck with Sanchez. It's the kind of signing that could cost GM Mike Tannenbaum his job.
Needless to say, Sanchez is well off the fantasy radar.
