Josh Freeman, Bucs struggling on 3rd downs: Fantasy implications

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Spor

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman and his offense have been facing a lot of long-yardage situations on third down during the team's losing streak. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman has struggled at times during his team's losing streak and long-yardage situations on third down are part of the reason. The Buccaneers, according to Roy Cummings of The Tampa Tribune, have faced 43 third-down situations the last three games and 31 times the Buccaneers have needed 6 yards or more to get a first down.

Tampa Bay, according to Cummings, has needed an average of 11.2 yards on those 31 third-and-long plays. Freeman threw four interceptions in Week 15 and will look to bounce back on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

Fantasy Impact: Freeman had his worst fantasy performance of the season in Week 15 but figures to be better at home on Sunday against the Rams.

Freeman is a No. 2 fantasy quarterback for Week 16.
