Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson has been ruled out for Week 16 because of a hamstring injury. Nelson has not practiced this week and will now have missed three straight games for Green Bay.
Nelson's absence will again mean more chances for Randall Cobb, Greg Jennings and James Jones, who leads the NFL with 12 touchdown receptions. Jones has three of them last week against the Chicago Bears. The Packers host the Tennessee Titans in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact: Nelson being ruled out is not a surprise, as Green Bay is probably more focused on having him ready for the playoffs. Most fantasy owners, however, will not get any more production from Nelson this season.
With Nelson out, Cobb, Jones and Jennings -- in that order -- are all viable fantasy options. Cobb remains a No. 1 fantasy receiver, while Jones and Jennings should be considered low-end No. 2/3 wide receivers or flex plays.
