Matthew Stafford lays an egg on prime time, fantasy dud in Week 16

USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford struggled mightily against the Falcons on Saturday night. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford struggled quite a bit on Saturday night against the Atlanta Falcons. While the Lions passer threw for 443 yards, he did not have a single touchdown.

Late in the game, he also forced a bad pass to Calvin Johnson which wound up being intercepted by cornerback Asante Samuel. It was not the best night for Matthew Stafford.

Fantasy Analysis: The Lions offense has been a mess. They lack balance, which has Stafford slinging the ball 40 to 50 times a game. He makes a lot of bad decisions, and while he has a high ceiling week to week, he's disappointed in more than a couple games.

This was not the way Stafford owners wanted to end the season.
