Jason Witten now has the record for most receptions by a tight end in one season.
Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten put himself in the record books on Sunday. Against the New Orleans Saints, Witten hauled in six catches for 60 yards and set the record for most receptions by a tight end in a single season.
Currently Witten has 103 receptions on the seasons. The previous record-holder was Tony Gonzalez, with 102 in 2004.
Fantasy Impact: Witten has found the end zone only two times this season, but he's been Tony Romo's favorite target for years and is one of the top TE options in PPR leagues. Fantasy owners surely appreciated his help during title week.
Witten turns 31 next year and doesn't appear to be slowing down. He'll be another top 5 TE in next season's drafts.
