Fantasy Football 2012, Week 17: Running Back rankings for PPR and standard leagues

USA TODAY Sports

The season is just about done, but we have one more round of rankings to get through. Check out if you should be worried about your back being benched.

A lot of leagues out there have two-week Super Bowls, so owners in those league might have a better idea on whether or not they'll need a high-upside back or to play it safe. These rankings are a little bit more geared to upside more than most weeks.

Before we check out the rankings, let's take a look at some injuries and story lines for Week 17:

Trent Richardson, Browns - He is dealing with an ankle injury and he's almost a lock to be listed as questionable and could be a game-time decision. Montario Hardesty should be owned in all leagues. The good news is that the Browns play an early game on Sunday.

Michael Turner, Falcons - The Falcons are very unlikely to play Michael Turner much and might even make him inactive. I'm drinking the 'Quizz Kool Aid -- especially in PPR leagues -- and owners should keep an eye on this situation throughout the week.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Bengals - The Bengals are going to play their starter on Sunday, which doesn't quite add up. Could you imagine if they lose Law Firm to an injury? They'd be up toe river. If I owned him (I don't), I would want to start him.

Alex Green, Packers - He will "definitely" play on Sunday and this makes Green Bay's backfield a thing to avoid in all leagues with Ryan Grant scoring twice on Sunday.

Chris Johnson, Titans - He has a sore ankle and he will appear on the injury report. Keep an eye on this as he would be a great start vs. Jacksonville.

David Wilson, Giants - D-Wil played just four snaps on Sunday, but the Giants are likely going to give him more work as an audition for next season vs. the Eagles.

Montell Owens, Jaguars - The Jags placed Rashad Jennings on IR and Maurice Jones-Drew is very doubtful. Feel free to deploy Owens as a high-upside RB2.
