Donnie Avery was donwgraded to a limited session on Thursday, suggesting a Wednesday injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Indianapolis Colts WR Donnie Avery (shoulder) was downgraded to a limited practice on Thursday. Avery got in a full practice Wednesday, but this news suggests he suffered an injury to his shoulder. Midweek downgrades are usually bad news, so now Avery isn't a guarantee to play in the regular season finale.
Avery has 60 catches for 761 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
Fantasy Impact: Even when healthy, Avery has never been a compelling fantasy option and routinely got outplayed by T.Y. Hilton. With the No. 5 seed wrapped up, the Colts may simply sit him and get him ready for the playoffs.
If Avery doesn't play, look for more targets to the rookie Hilton.
