The San Francisco 49ers have officially placed WR Mario Manningham (knee) on injured reserve, ending his 2012 season. The move is more of a formality as Manningham tore his ACL and PCL in the Sunday night blowout against Seattle. The 49ers promoted DT Tony Jerod-Eddie from the practice squad to take his place.
Manningham finishes his season with 42 catches for 449 yards and one touchdown.
Fantasy Impact: It's now a race against the clock as Manningham will try to finish his rehab in time for the 2013 season. There is no set timetable yet, but eight months is usually in the ballpark.
