US PRESSWIRE

Jeremy Maclin had just three receptions for 38 yards off five targets during the Eagles' loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jeremy Maclin was held to three catches for 38 yards off five targets during the Philadelphia Eagles' loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Jason Avant led the Eagles in receiving with four catches for 79 yards.

Maclin has been held to 55 yards receiving or less in all but three games this season. He has now been held out of the end zone in three straight games. Avant's big day came off a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact: Suffice it to say, Maclin can only be considered a WR3 or Flex option at best in any fantasy format, at this point. His athleticism makes him a breakout threat on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, he has been more bust than boom this season.

Avant is worth keeping an eye on as a potential new favorite target for rookie quarterback Nick Foles. That said, he probably shouldn't be in your starting lineup unless he proves himself again this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
