Montell Owens has been marked inactive for Sunday's game between the Jaguars and Titans after his knee acted up in warm-ups. We break down the fantasy implications.
Montell Owens is inactive for Sunday's game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. Owens did not appear on the Jaguars' injury report this week, but his knee apparently gave him serious trouble in pre-game warm-ups.
With Owens a surprise inactive, the Jaguars will likely rely on Richard Murphy to handle the rushing load, with Keith Toston and/or Jonathan Grimes possibly seeing touches, as well. Murphy is the only back of the trio to receive carries in the last three weeks.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners should remove Owens from their lineup immediately. Hopefully you have a sturdy replacement available. Murphy is difficult to recommend, especially since it is unclear whether or not he will be working out of a timeshare. Owens' injury spoils what was a good matchup. The Titans are allowing 4.2 yards per carry on the season.
