Drew Brees throws 4 TDs in fantasy season finale vs. Panthers

Chris Graythen

Drew Brees went 29-for-43 passing for 396 yards, four touchdowns and one interception during the Saints' loss to the Panthers on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Drew Brees went 29-for-43 passing for 396 yards, four touchdowns and one interception during the New Orleans Saints' loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He surpassed the 5,000-yard mark this season for a record third time in his career.

Brees finished the 2012 season with 43 touchdowns to 18 interceptions. He scored in all but one game this season, but couldn't ultimately lead the Saints to the playoffs.

Fantasy Impact: It was a bitter season for the Saints, but Brees did everything he could to make sure his team had a shot at the postseason near the end of the year. In the meantime, he was a fantastic fantasy option. He is one of the league's premiere passers. Regardless of whether the Saints make any improvements next season, Brees should be one of the first few quarterbacks taken off the draft board next season.
