Fantasy Football PPR Target Report, Week 13: Tight Ends

US PRESSWIRE

Which tight ends were targeted the most in Week 13? Check out the Week 13 PPR Target Report.

I have written about Oakland Raiders tight end Brandon Myers quite a bit this season, with the hope that you picked him up off of your waiver wire a few weeks ago. Well, if you did, and you started him on Sunday, he rewarded you with a huge game. Myers saw 15 targets from quarterback Carson Palmer, catching 14 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Myers now has 69 receptions for 721 yards and four touchdowns, giving him a chance to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving in 2012. For a guy who probably was not drafted in most leagues back in September, he has really put up a solid season for fantasy owners.

Now let's take a look at the tight ends who saw the most targets in Week 13:

Hitting the Bullseye

Jacob Tamme, DEN

Tamme had his biggest game of the season on Sunday, catching nine of his 13 targets for 89 yards and no scores. Coming into the season, I thought Tamme would be one of the more targeted receivers in the Denver Broncos offense, but that was not to be. For the season, Tamme has caught 47 of his 75 targets for 449 yards and two touchdowns.

Jason Witten, DAL

Witten caught six of his eight targets from Tony Romo on Sunday Night Football for 108 yards and no touchdowns. He had two big plays down the middle of the field that could have gone for scores, but he was caught inside the 10-yard line both times. For the season, Witten has caught 88 passes for 818 yards, but just one touchdown. Dez Bryant has become Romo's favorite red zone target this season, forcing Witten owners to settle for solid reception and yardage numbers going forward.

Kyle Rudolph, MIN

Rudolph is probably the Minnesota Vikings' top target in the red zone now with Percy Harvin injured. He had a solid game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, catching six of his eight targets for 51 yards and a touchdown. For the season, he has caught 45 of his 75 targets for 412 yards and eight touchdowns. He is a must-start in leagues where tight ends are required.

Jared Cook, TEN

Cook was targeted by quarterback Jake Locker at total of 12 times on Sunday, catching four of those balls for 51 yards and no scores. The return of Locker to the Tennessee Titans' offense has resulted in more targets for Cook. He has been targeted 20 times in Locker's two games back from injury.

Aaron Hernandez, NE

Our own Yonah Singer has been singing the praises of Hernandez over the last few weeks, and he was validated in Week 13 by a big week for the New England Patriots tight end. Hernandez was targeted 13 times by quarterback Tom Brady, catching eight of those passes for 97 yards and no scores. His schedule over the next two weeks is tough as the Pats face the tough defenses of the Houston Texans and the San Francisco 49ers.

Missing the Target

Davis has shown up in this section a few times this season, and Week 13 was no different. Davis saw just three targets on Sunday, catching two passes for 15 yards and no scores. Since Colin Kaepernick has taken over the quarterback spot in the San Francisco offense, Davis has seen just four targets in two games.
