Victor Cruz had five receptions for 104 yards to lead the New York Giants in receiving during their loss to the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. He was targeted eight times on the night, which was behind only Hakeem Nicks (10 targets) for the team lead.
Cruz went beyond 100 yards receiving for the first time since racking up 131 yards in Week 7 during the Giants' first meeting against the Redskins. He was held without a touchdown for the fourth time in five games.
Fantasy Impact: Cruz looked somewhat like his former self. He began the season on pace for an outstanding fantasy season, but has gone cold since about the midpoint. Let's hope Eli Manning's improved play over the last two weeks will mean good things for Cruz through the end of the regular season.
Cruz has an excellent matchup next week, taking on a bad New Orleans Saints defense in what could turn into a shootout. He is certainly worth starting consideration, despite his recent struggles.
