Stevie Johnson misses practice Wednesday, but says he'll play: Fantasy implications

Stevie Johnson sat out practice Wednesday for the Bills, but he maintained that he will play Sunday against the Rams despite a hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Stevie Johnson missed practice Wednesday for the Buffalo Bills, but says he will play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, according to the Bills' official site. Johnson said that his tight hamstring still feels "about the same".

Johnson has yet to miss a start this season, but he was limited last week after suffering a hamstring injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Head coach Chan Gailey also expressed confidence Monday that the wide receiver will be able to suit up in Week 14, however.

Fantasy Impact: The Bills appear to be holding Johnson out as a precaution, and unless the organization is simply toying with fans and media, it appears that the wideout will play against the Rams. He should be a viable fantasy option this week, despite hauling in just two passes against the Jags. Johnson had six receptions in three straight games prior to Sunday. If you need a good WR3 (borderline WR2), Johnson should be a safe start.
