Ryan Grant not expected to cut into Alex Green's (minimal) fantasy value

Brad Penner-US PRESSWIRE

The Packers just signed Ryan Grant off the streets this week, but Alex Green is expected to remain the featured back in Week 14. We break down the fantasy implications.

With a glut of injuries to their backfield, the Green Bay Packers signed RB Ryan Grant off the streets this week to fill out their depth chart. However, he's not expected to play a big role against the Detroit Lions as he works his way back into game shape. Alex Green is expected to get the majority of touches in Week 14.

Green is the new starter with James Starks and Cedric Benson done for the year.

Fantasy Impact: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel notes that Green averages 2.4 YPC when he gets at least 20 carries, and 4.3 YPC when splitting time.

The Packers aren't afraid to simply abandon the running game on a whim, and Green has done precious little to hang on to a feature back role. He's a dicey fantasy play going forward.
